Historic events for 1918
Spanish influenza outbreak was a 1918 killer.
Between March and November of 1918 it killed
an estimated 20 million to 40 million people
worldwide and became the worst single epidemic in
U.S. history. Between 500,000 and 675,000 died in
the United States alone.  Salisbury was extremely
hard hit by this influenza.
