Roberts is born.
In Paris during December 1895,
the Lumiere brothers presented the first
known public screening of a film
with music. They employed piano
accompaniment.
A telephone made in 1895.
The instrument uses a
small hand operated generator
to signal the operator
by ringing a bell. Hand generators
grew rare after
1905 when telephone exchanges became
equipped
with batteries and ringing
equipment.
